This role will undertake the writing/editorial development of a broad range of projects, facilitating the completion of these projects from first draft through to final deliverable, and liaising with other teams both internally and externally as required.
The SMW will be involved in reviewing work and coaching junior team members; will participate in the development of budgets and timelines; and will be involved in the management of the editorial workload of designated accounts.
The SMW should have experience of delivering materials ranging from scientific to more commercial in focus and for a broad range of audiences (from experts through to patients). Limited review of materials and coaching/supervision should be necessary.
·Demonstrate a solid understanding of client product(s) and therapy areas, contributing to the development and application of scientific and commercial strategy to ongoing projects and new business opportunities, contributing to the organic growth of designated accounts on an ongoing basis.
·Structure, write, edit and proofread a broad range of materials, ensuring accuracy and appropriate referencing, with limited coaching/supervision required.
Ensure that communications reflect client requirements and are optimally presented/communicated
·Working with the project team, and other writers as appropriate, to proactively manage the editorial workload of designated accounts, taking a long-term view and alerting your line manager to potential resourcing concerns or freelance requirements in a manner that enables resourcing requirements to be addressed well in advance
·Demonstrate excellence in client service, being recognised by the client as an important and valuable member of the team
Experience and Qualifications Required:
·Proven experience as a writer in medical communications with demonstrated ability to develop appropriate materials with limited supervision (generally ≥5 years' experience)
·BSc / MSc / PhD or equivalent
