Would you like the chance to join an award winning global biotechnology Company who focus on development and commercialisation of innovative gene therapies to change lives? My client has a broad pipeline with two clinical trials ongoing and two more coming in 2020 which allows more opportunities to change lives of patients by providing directed gene therapy as a life-long and potentially curative treatment.
You will be given the freedom to design experiments and participate in the planning of research. Furthermore, you will be taking a leading role in duties associated with the effective running of the laboratory. Moreover, this opportunity will allow you to participate in mentoring junior staff, ensuring a safe working environment and contributing to continuous improvement in the lab.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the team leader to design and execute a variety of experiments on AAV research programs.
Will need to execute cell culture techniques (primary cultures and cell lines) and transduction/transfection assays using viral and non-viral approaches.
Be responsible for supporting Proof of Principle and Proof of Concept studies.
Must be able to perform qPCR, Western blot, ELISA, enzyme activity assays, cell-based assays, and other routine analytical tests using tissue from in vivo studies.
Follow company procedures on inventory maintenance including non-clinical samples, plasmids, cells and vectors and comply with health, safety, environmental and quality standards and procedures.
Requirements:
Educated to degree level or above in a relevant biological/life science discipline with laboratory experience and an understanding and experience of Laboratory safety.
Experience in a range of techniques including qPCR, Western blot, ELISA, enzyme activity assays and cell-based assays.
Ideally have prior knowledge on the execution of preclinical AAV studies using various in vivo model systems related to AAV gene therapy development and in vitro transduction/transfection assays using viral and non-viral approaches.
Maintain effective communication skills, demonstrated ability to interact effectively within and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
If you are looking to share an ambition of excellence and you are looking for a high paced work environment, this could be perfect fit for you.
