Do you want to shape and influence the evolution of a Technology function operating model as its being taken to the next level?

You will plan and also drive key initiatives to enhance the availability and resilience of Application services.

You will formalise approaches to identifying opportunities to apply engineering principles that continually reduce the burden of operationally supporting and scaling Applications.
You will collaborate with peers to develop strategies, frameworks and approaches to effectively manage Application monitoring, availability, performance and capacity in Production.

As a Technical Manager, you will heavily contribute to the formulation of Architectural standards and Operational processes relevant to your team and remit.

We operate to exacting standards; As a Technical design Authority for your team, you'll have the ability to deep dive to ensure individual technical designs produced by you and your team are in line with architectural vision.

People come first; You will build, mentor and coach a cohesive, engaged, and customer-centric team of Developers, Testers, System Engineers and Application Support analysts.
You will contribute to the on-going development and operation of agile Incident, problem and change management structures and processes for Production Application Services in order to protect SLA.

Significant experience of developing and managing Application stack of Java, Spring Boot, Apache Tomcat in a previous role.

Strong Java application design and development experience.

Very strong knowledge of operational concerns such as Application monitoring, mean time to recovery, capacity & performance.

Strong Linux Operating system knowledge.

Deep understanding of engineering principles, DevOps with strong bias to automate.

Past experience of working in or very closely with Infrastructure, Operations, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering teams.

Exposure to developing and operating in either public or private cloud environments and associated technologies such as Azure/GPC services, Kubernetes, Openstack, chef.
