An excellent opportunity to join my client on a long term (up to 2 year contract).

A global, market leader in the industrial gasses market sector, we are offering a role that includes travel across multiple client sites based in various locations throughout the UK, therefore applications from candidates from any location would be considered.
The role includes the following elements:
To ensure all existing pressure equipment in the UK is accounted for and recorded appropriately to comply with UK legislation and corporate procedures.
.The role requires a general understanding of process/chemical plant line diagrams and typical engineering documentation (mechanical drawings, data sheets, technical files etc.).
The job holder should be tenacious and thorough; and be able to interpret available technical data to appropriately fill any gaps found.
The role will include travel to the different sites across the UK
Review of all pressure equipment (vessels, piping & pipelines) in the UK.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.To review the current plant process line diagrams to create a full list of pressure equipment for the plant (vessels, piping and relief devices). The work is to be done on a plant by plant basis.
2.To review the generated list with existing records to ensure that all pressure equipment is being considered.
3.To review the pressure system records to ensure that:
·The design conditions, materials of construction etc. are clearly recorded.
·The company's maintenance software programme (SAP) reflects the scheme of examination requirements for all pressure equipment.
4.To resolve any gaps in pressure system records; by searching through:
·Existing pressure system paper records (plant-based logbooks).
·Existing electronic files (electronic logbooks).
·The company's drawing and documentation database (STAC).
Or asking designers, project managers, plant operatives or plant managers whether they have any other records.
5.To use the available information to fully document pressure equipment data, recording how as necessary the information has been determined.
6.To highlight to the Pressure Systems Engineer - UK & Ireland, any gaps in SAP so that initially they may arrange for the issue to be resolved.
7.To review actions from previous pressure system audits to ensure that all issued highlighted have been addressed

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

The Pressure Systems Technical Engineer should be a self-starter and have experience of working with technical records for pipework and vessels in a process, power generation or chemical industry environment.

They Pressure Systems Technical Engineer will need to have:
·Experience of reading process line diagrams.
·Experience of using and searching through engineering databases (although software specific training will be given).
·An understanding of pressure system legislation (PER & PSSR) although expertise is not a requirement.
·The ability and confidence to work with limited information, to rationally update the pressure system records.
·Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills across all levels (technical and non-technical).
·Good IT skills (Word, Excel & databases).
·A driving licence and be willing to travel to the operating sites.

The role could suit either a relatively inexperienced graduate engineer or an experienced technician.
