Conceptualise, design, implement and optimise the department's ability to conduct Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology studies.
This position is responsible for driving technical innovation across the Research departments.
The position is accountable for overseeing their department for computational biology, managing people, and ensuring successful development of the careers of their direct reports.

Performance of Bioinformatics
The position involves extensive scientific interactions with other scientists at various company sites and throughout the world.
The purpose is to advance the field and bring innovation to discovery research for the benefit of the company.

The position is expected to drive world-leading innovation from their direct and indirect reports.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD, MD or equivalent and have significant post-doctoral experience in a directly relevant field such as computational biology, bioinformatics or data science combined with a background in diabetes or cardiometabolic disease.
