I am looking for a Senior Research Assistant (Vector Core) to join a privately held biotech developing gene therapies in Stevenage

My client has a broad pipeline with two clinical trials ongoing and two more coming in 2019/20 which allows more opportunities to change lives of patients by providing directed gene therapy as a life-long and potentially curative treatment.



Purpose of the role

Preferable experience in AAV-based gene-therapy discovery to present data and to support all aspects of AAV-based gene therapy across a variety of projects.

Prior knowledge of AAV vectors or other viral vectors along with molecular cloning, Protein optimization and mammalian cell culture.

Perform analytical techniques on vector preparations (QPCR, ELISA, Western Blot, protein gels). Furthermore, you will need to carry out routine cell culture and transient transfections

Support the smooth and efficient running of the Vector Core while following company procedures, SOPs etc. Must maintain accurate records and support additional high priority projects to meet deadlines.


REQUIREMENTS:

Relevant degree in a biological / scientific discipline

Proven industry experience in using protein analysis techniques (SDS-PAGE, ELISA, QPCR)

A working knowledge and practical experience with Vector Core, AAV or other viral vectors
