A globally recognised manufacturer of heavy duty electrical products. The role of Quality Engineer involves improving and developing both the internal manufacturing/assembly processes, and the global supply base to bring about improvements in final product quality, waste reduction and a reduction in early life failures.
This customer facing role involves analysing, identifying and permanently fixing quality problems using structured problem solving tools. The role will also involve resolving quality issues on product failures. You will be required to focus on improving product quality through the use of pro-active quality principles.
Responsibilities
 To constantly strive to increase our "right-first-time" performance and eliminate failures whilst maximising efficiency.
 To assist with customer account related quality & warranty issues i.e. quality plans, audits, warranty, complaints, concessions etc.
 To carry out product and process investigations and data collection/analysis (PPM)
 To identify problems, determine root-cause and to coordinate implementation of corrective and preventive actions, and produce formal 8D reports
 To compile and assist with Quality & Process documentation, i.e. Control Plans, Process Flow Maps, FMEA, Control Charts, Visual Aids, Work Instructions, etc.
 To conduct internal product and process audits, and audits on suppliers.
Person Specification
 Excellent communications skills are a pre-requisite; you will have proficient oral, written and presentation skills, and be able to build effective relationships across the business, with customers and with suppliers across the globe.
 A Quality Engineer ideally qualified to Degree level in an electrical or mechanical engineering
 You will have an electro-mechanical / assembly manufacturing background
 Be well versed in structured problem solving tools such as 8D/5WHY/Ishikawa
 Experience of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC and process control activities
 Knowledge of ISO14001 and practical implementation and system integration  Working knowledge and understanding of GD&T ( Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing )
