For our office in Diegem, we are currently looking for a:Junior System Administrator

Description:

As a Junior System Administrator, you will be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of the computer systems and networks. This role requires prior experience using Linux systems, such as CentOS or Red Hat.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Perform daily maintenance activities by verifying :

  • Systems monitoring and alerts

  • Systems logs

  • Scripts output and technical mailbox

  • Backup jobs

  • Provide 1st line support for the IT infrastructure and services

  • Participate in building, upgrading, and maintaining servers and systems

  • Assist with the Release Cycle of the in-house developed production systems, operate and guarantee their availability

  • Ensure that the documentation is up to date

  • Participate in an on-call rotation


Profile:

  • You have a bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent by experience

  • You are experienced in Systems Administration

  • Experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux and Windows Servers

  • Hands-on experience with VMware/ESX

  • Working knowledge of Python, Perl, Bash is desirable

  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.) is desirable

  • Experience or interest in DNS is desirable

  • Eager to learn in a fast paced environment and seek continuous improvement

  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving technical problems

  • Strong sense of ownership in the timely resolution of issues and completion of project tasks

  • Ability to follow procedures but also suggest improvements

  • You are fluent in English and either Dutch or French
