Our client is a leading global manufacturing company. This position will be based in Cambridgeshire and sits within the component power engineering department. The successful candidate will have the ability to take ownership of design and development and have an opportunity to gain product ownership exposure seeing products through to volume production stages.

This role is ideal for those with both design and development experience with IC Engines and who are able to plan and execute tasks effectively. It is also critical that the professional has a full grasp of the most current emissions legislation in this role.

Candidates should be experienced in performing many of the below:

  1. Design and packaging of Various air systems, fuel systems, FEAD, core, after treatment and other engine systems

  2. Working directly with the engine architect to identify space claims

  3. Working with suppliers to develop hardware and mounting solutions

  4. Conducting FMEA on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs.

  5. Working with the validation team to plan and execute validation tests.

  6. Conducting component and system design reviews to obtain 'buy-in' from the business to selected components, designs and suppliers.

  7. Keeping peers, team leader and management up to date with progress against planned activities.

  8. Development of drawings and other information to support the release of parts onto BOMs and engine lists in preparation for volume production.

  9. Support field and production issue, diagnose issues to root cause, put in place containment actions, sage of Teamcenter - data management software and develop permanent corrective actions. Work with suppliers and keep stakeholder informed of progress and decisions


It would be desirable if applicants have experience running and participating in FMEA. In addition, those with strong data management software skills will be attractive to the client.
