BUSINESS ANALYST - OPEN BANKING- PSD2

If so, such a company is looking for a Business Analyst with in-depth Open Banking and PSD2 experience to join them on a permanent basis.

The full specification is below but the following are key areas:

*Looking for quite a regulatory focussed BA, with experience of Open Banking and PSD2 implementations
*There will be a reasonably heavy technical element in this role and so systems analysis experience and modern API implementations, data models are favourable
*With Open Banking you will naturally have banking experience but areas of more interest are Digital Banking, Digital transformation and mobile banking

Join us and you will help define a digital banking platform that is second to none and at the forefront of innovation in banking and the wider FinTech sector.

Your days will consist of collaborating across multiple feature teams, placing detailed analysis focus in your specifically assigned workspace. You'll help with creation and management of the product backlog, gathering requirements and refining into the development teams, actively supporting with cross team dependency solutioning.

Responsibilities

Design
* Collaborate across the design function and product ownership to shape the roadmap design, understanding the feature and epic level breakdown to inform the product backlog
* Produce supporting journey artefacts such as process flows, sequencing diagrams and context models to assist in the wider understanding of the feature to be delivered
* Inform the technical and business landscape models to ensure that a joined up end-to-end design pattern can be maintained

Analysis
* Gather functional, non-functional and technical requirements, being able to translate these into meaningful user stories complete with acceptance criteria
* Identify relational elements of cross-team requirements, ensuring dependencies are managed
* Apply industry best practice across the user story composition to maintain a workable standard
* Be proficient in splitting deliverables using a typical 'feature-epic-story' hierarchy
* Be the champion of 'Refinement' and responsible for ensuring stories adhere to the Clients Definition of Ready (DoR)
* Identify and engage with 3rd party services that may enhance the clients platform, working across Partnerships and Technology teams as appropriate
* Facilitate SME discussions, applying domain specific knowledge where required

Delivery
* Collaborate across the development team, assisting with story completion and being an ambassador of adherence to the clients Definition of Done (DoD)
* Support in the preparation of iterative reviews of the developed functionality

Requirements
Essential skills/experience
*Business analysis, problem solving, issue tracking and resolution
*Understanding of retail bank processes
*Proven track record as a Business Analyst within a digital delivery environment
*Highly experienced in requirement elicitation, writing epics and user stories with acceptance criteria using BDD/TDD
*Experience working closely with UX and translating wireframes (and other artefacts) into user stories
*Experience of working with Confluence and JIRA
*User flow or process mapping skills
*Workshop design and facilitation
*People and stakeholder management and communications

Desired skills
*Experience of Agile delivery using Scrum
*Familiarity with participating in the core Agile ceremonies
*Possess a good understanding of all aspects related to digital products and their management from ideation to delivery
*Experience in dynamic, digital and entrepreneurial businesses
*Previous experience in Systems Analysis techniques and technical writing skills


Domain Expertise
Essential skills/experience
*Understanding of the Open Banking and PSD2 regulatory landscape, roadmap and requirements
*Understanding of the Open Banking API data model, consent and authentication process and their relationship to GDPR
*Understanding of role of and technical requirements to integrate with the Open Banking Directory
*Understanding of the security and fraud implications introduced by an open API economy
*Understanding of retail and SME financial services including the role of regulators and management of risk (e.g. conduct risk)
*Ability to interface and co-design with software developers building cloud-based architectures based on micro-services and API gateways
*Good grip on agile ways of working and the importance of DoR, DoD, etc
*Experience working directly with the UK Open Banking Standard, either in one of the banks (ASPSPs) or FinTechs (TPPs)
*3-5 years experience working in UK Retail, SME, digital banking, digital transformation, mobile banking, multi-channel and/or API channel environments
*Direct experience launching a new financial services proposition direct to consumers
*Experience working at a SaaS platform provider preferred, but not essential

Desired skills
*Understanding of how the Open Banking standard is developing in different parts of the world (e.g. Australia)
*Ability to think strategically and identify new commercial opportunities in the open banking space
*Understanding of the broader ISO20022 FAPI standard
