They are currently looking for a Systems & Network Engineer

Description:

As a Systems & Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the IT systems and networks of our client.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain, consolidate and develop "continuous delivery"

  • Manage and monitor the infrastructure and systems

  • Manage virtualized environments and underlying networks

  • Advise upon new technologies

  • Contribute to process automation and develop automation tools

  • Write and/or enhance scripts

  • Apply various open source technologies and tools to "orchestrate" solutions

  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call system


Profile:

  • Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent by experience

  • Relevant work experience of at least 5 years as a network or system engineer

  • Hands-on management of infrastructure solutions

  • Linux system level (Red Hat-based) and network analysis

  • Solid Experience with Networking (BGP and enterprise routing/switching) and Network Automation

  • Good knowledge of Python

  • Understanding of REST API's, Microservices and Containerization technologies

  • Modern web development, patterns and practices, web application security

  • Familiar with "Continuous delivery", deployment methods/pipelines concepts. (Jobs, builds, deployments)

  • SCM such as Git

  • Configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet

  • Soft skills such as ownership, proactivity, good interaction, and clear communication skills

  • Working across multiple teams to deliver the final product

  • Being able to see the 'big picture' and understand the business

  • Fluent in English and either Dutch or French


Bonus skills:

  • Experience with DBs (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elastic search, Influx DB)

  • Deep understanding of DNS

  • Experience with Cloud Solutions (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
