Lead Electronic Hardware Engineer - EMC Specialist

The Lead Electronic Hardware Engineer - EMC Specialist will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes for an area of the business, you will have the experience or expertise to solve problems, and be able to develop and execute objectives for yourself and others and provide specialist EMC guidance to Engineering teams across platforms and customers.

As an EMC specialist you will consult with teams across the business to support a variety of both Military and Commercial projects, covering all aspects of the EMC. You will provide technical leadership to personnel and cross functional teams supporting the assigned project, implement plans with guidance to meet technical requirements of assigned components and systems, work with projects and customers to define appropriate EMC/EMI test requirements at component LRU and system level, and creation of EMC documentation (Test Procedures, Control Plans, Design/Investigation Reports and presentations) based on customer requirements.

Key skills & responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's degree from University or college or equivalent knowledge/experience in Electronic Engineering

  • Moderate amount of demonstrable experience in an EM environment

  • Significant experience of performing EMC testing and working in a test lab environment

  • Proven experience in electronics design for EMC, HIRF, and lighting

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve EMC issues at System, Unit and down to component level on Board Assemblies

  • Define and develop representative EMC test systems

  • Influence product designs to meet EMC requirements (including PCB layouts)
