Karen says she’s been in recruiting a lifetime. She says when she started there were no CVs, she used a manual typewriter, and computers were the size of tennis courts. Whether that’s completely true or not, Karen’s got a wealth of experience going back… a while. From her start in a high street agency she attained senior management level before taking a seven year break to bring up her second daughter. And when she returned, she took on a very different recruitment role, sourcing glamour models for clients who needed them draped over expensive cars, yachts and the like. (As she says, it was a long time ago) So Karen is used to dealing with all sorts of people. Joining Volt in 2012 she’s worked across a broad range of sectors and for some prestigious clients, and was an obvious choice to join Andy Wyatt’s new Professional Services team, focusing mainly on Marketing and Sales.
Outside the office Karen’s a Crystal Palace fan, loves watching England play rugby, and is a killer badminton player, with experience and low animal cunning more than making up for any loss of speed and agility, as her younger opponents find out to their cost.
